Pastor Doug Batchelor's Comments on Michael Jackson's Funeral Are Demeaning and show disrespect for life and death
I think Pastor Doug Batchelor's comments on Michael Jackson's funeral are demeaning and show a disrespect for human life and death.
Whether or not one agrees or disagrees with Michael Jackson's life or music, Pastor Doug Batchelor's comments are spectacular for their glibness. Does Pastor Doug Batchelor use the funerals of other musicians and celebrities and world figures as fodder in his articles about the coming End? Princess Diana's funeral was watched by millions of people all over the world, yet, I don't ever recall, Pastor Doug Batchelor demeaning her funeral as flamboyant and as a spectacle.
Also, why does not Pastor Batchelor ever address the subject of the Adventist Church's blurring of church and state lines by its ADRA Relief Agency? Is not this just as bad as the allegations he hurls at the Catholic Pope regarding merging Church and State?
Is Doug Batchelor showing a typical hypocrisy among some circles within the Seventh Day Adventist Church on the issue of the Adventist Church's blurring of Church and State lines via its ADRA Relief Agency?
I would have expected a Christian Pastor to at least have offered condolences regarding the passing of a life, rather than resort first headlong into demeaning a deceased's funeral as a spectacle, failing to note the solemnity of the affair and occasion to mourn the passing of a life. Michael Jackson's death was ruled a homicide, after all, which means that the Coroner deemed that his death resulted at the hands of another; yet no expressions of condolences or sadness from Pastor Batchelor before he rushes headlong into demeaning this occasion of mourning as a flamboyant spectacle.
One wonders, if something else motivates Doug Batchelor. What is it that motivates him as a Christian to treat the passing of a soul so sarcastically and carelessly? Does Doug Batchelor value the lives of some much less than others? I get the impression that he does.
